Thiago Silva, 41, returns to Europe with Porto deal | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Thiago Silva has joined Porto on a deal until the end of the season, with an option for a further year, three days after announcing his departure from Fluminense. The 41-year-old former PSG captain returns to Europe.

The Brazilian previously passed through Porto 20 years ago when he first arrived in Europe. He was limited to the club's reserve side at the time.

He had wanted to be closer to his wife and to his sons, Iago and Isago, who are in Chelsea's youth ranks.

That earlier reserve-team stint is not expected to be repeated, as he will add experience to the defence of the current Portuguese league leaders.

Nicknamed O Monstro, his return to Europe was concluded swiftly.
