Thierry Henry has paid tribute to Antoine Griezmann as the Atlético de Madrid forward keeps his Champions League bid alive and prepares to head to the United States. According to L'Équipe, the 1998 World Cup winner praised his compatriot's career.

Despite losing 1-2 to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final second leg after a 2-0 first leg, Atlético reached the semi-finals. The result sustains hopes of a European title at the end of May.

Speaking as a CBS Sports Golazo pundit, Henry thanked Griezmann for everything he has done for French football, the national team and the game, adding that watching him has been a joy. The former France striker won 123 caps and scored 51 goals from 1997 to 2010.

He wished Griezmann a strong finish with Atlético and good luck at Orlando, which the forward is set to join in late June when his contract with the Colchoneros expires. Henry added that he knows MLS well if needed, having spent four years with New York Red Bulls from 2010 to 2014.

Griezmann, 35, said the message meant a lot coming from a French legend, replying in French on an English-language show.
