Three Barcelona players cut holidays short to return to training | OneFootball

There are only around two weeks left till the start of the 2026-27 season for FC Barcelona, and the Blaugranes continue to prepare for this upcoming campaign in which they will be going all out to win the UEFA Champions League.

Unfortunately, their latest preseason test did not turn out exactly as Hansi Flick wished, as his team fell to a 1-0 defeat to Udinese in Italy. There is no doubt that both Deco and Flick have a lot of work to do in the coming few weeks to go into the next season with a team that can compete for all the big trophies.

Meanwhile, the available players were given a day off on Sunday by the German coach. However, the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper facilities still saw some first team players training on their own. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, these players were Eric Garcia, Joan Garcia, and Anthony Gordon, all of whom were scheduled to return a few days later, but have cut their holidays short to prepare for the next season.

The two World Cup winners with Spain were expected to return to training with Flick on 12 August. However, they returned early and carried out their training sessions. Both of them did not play a very prominent role in the Spanish team’s World Cup triumph, but were a part of Luis de la Fuente’s squad.

Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon was a key player for Thomas Tuchel’s England side, and after having signed for Barcelona before the start of the World Cup, he arrived at the club’s facilities on Friday to start training.

Another member of the Spain squad, Gavi, had returned to train even before these players, while the remaining Barcelona players are expected to report for their medical tests and training in the upcoming week.
