Bayern Munich have ripped through the first half of 2025/26, winning 13 of 15 and staying unbeaten. Harry Kane has 19 goals in 13 league starts, opening a nine-point gap over Borussia Dortmund. Bovada prices Bayern at 1/200 for the title, Dortmund 35/1.
Attention now turns to Leon Goretzka’s future. According to BuLi News, a viral claim on X, formerly Twitter, that he had retired was false. The 30-year-old is out of contract this summer, so he can leave for free after 30 June, or Bayern could cash in in January.
Barcelona are a prominent option. Hansi Flick is in charge and has a strong relationship with Goretzka, and he has been linked with a move to Camp Nou. Breaking into a midfield of Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Fermín López, Marc Casadó and, once fit, Gavi would be no formality.
Arsenal are also credited with interest and sit five points clear at the Premier League summit, with bookmakers making them title favourites and Champions League contenders. At 6ft 2in, Goretzka fits Mikel Arteta’s physical template. Minutes would still be contested with Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Martin Ødegaard, Mikel Merino and Christian Nørgaard.
Napoli could arguably offer more immediate influence. The reigning champions, managed by Antonio Conte, signed Kevin De Bruyne on a free in the summer, and Goretzka could be available at a cut price to head to the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona. With De Bruyne increasingly injury-prone and Scott McTominay carrying heavy responsibility, Goretzka could ease the load for another Scudetto push.
