Tiago Gouveia, 24, is intent on impressing Marco Silva at Benfica, and he remains under contract until 2028.

According to Glorioso 1904, the winger has had approaches from clubs in Spain, Scotland, Poland, England and MLS, yet his priority is to stay and use pre-season to convince Silva he can contribute next season.

In a recent interview, Gouveia said he would return with pleasure and would never treat a Benfica pre-season as a write-off, underlining his desire to fight for a place.

He returns from a loan at Nice, where he made 25 appearances and scored two goals. Although he helped the French side stay in Ligue 1, Nice did not activate an option set at eight million euros.

With Benfica exploring options across their attack, pre-season could be decisive for Gouveia as he tries to re-establish himself at the club. The competition will be strong, but he believes a significant role in 2026/27 remains possible.
