After the midweek game against Atalanta, the first of this season, the Rossoneri are back in action against Roma at San Siro. The bells are ringing for Matchday 10, and there is still so much ahead despite the first quarter of the season coming to a close. Gasperini's Giallorossi are a tricky side to face. Ahead of the talking on the pitch, this is the story of a pretty recent game between the two sides in what was a magic season for us.

Let's go back to 6 January 2022, at the dawn of the new year, which would see us lift our 19th Scudetto. We were hosting Mourinho's Roma at San Siro when the duel between us and Inter at the top was very exciting, point by point. The Rossoneri had a range of absentees: Ballo-Touré, Bennacer and Kessie were busy at AFCON, Tomori, Romagnoli, Kjær, Calabria and Castillejo tested positive for Covid. Leão was just coming back from injury, so he started on the bench. But AC Milan's response on the pitch was bursting with personality and incisiveness. Giroud got us going in the 8th minute from the spot following Abraham's handball offence. In the 17th minute, Messias then made it two from the rebound of Giroud's shot that hit the post, but just five minutes from the half, Abraham drew one back, largely due to a lucky deflection.

The second half was full of action, all stemming from the Rossoneri. After just a few minutes, Brahim Díaz let it fly from the edge of the box, thumping the bar. In the 74th minute, the visitors went down to ten when Karsdorp was given a second yellow, bringing down Theo on the edge of the area: from the resulting free kick, Florenzi struck the post, getting close to a third once again. But finally, the goal came in the 82nd minute: Ibra laid it off to Rafa, who burst into stride and beat Rui Patricio. Close to the end, the roles were reversed and there was an opportunity to make it 4: Leão won a penalty (Mancini was sent off as a result), but Zlatan's effort from the spot was saved by the travelling goalkeeper. It ended 3-1!
