Timur Tutierov has set his sights on sustaining his pre-season momentum after standout showings against York City and Liverpool.
His display in the win at York City earned the 21-year-old a place on Sunderland’s three-game tour of the United States. Against Liverpool, Kieran Morrison struck first, Enzo Le Fee equalised with a wonder strike and Tutierov then put Sunderland ahead, before Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas secured a 4-2 Reds victory.
“I am so proud for myself and so proud for the lads. We had a great opportunity to play against unbelievable players like (Dominik Szoboszlai). It’s a big experience for me and for them as well. I am so happy about that, it can not be better. The season has started good for me and I hope I am going to keep this level and keep these standards.” He told the club website.
The Ukraine Under-21 forward progressed through the Academy of Light and spent the second half of last season on loan at Exeter City, delivering three goals and one assist in 17 appearances in all competitions. He returned to Sunderland and signed a new contract running to the summer of 2028.
Tutierov has trained with Regis Le Bris’ first-team group throughout pre-season and hopes to keep his level and standards over the coming weeks.
