Timur Tutierov sets targets after pre-season displays against York City and Liverpool | OneFootball

Timur Tutierov has set his sights on sustaining his pre-season form after an eye-catching start with Sunderland’s senior squad.

“I am so proud for myself and so proud for the lads. The season has started good for me and I hope I am going to keep this level and keep these standards.” he told the club website.

Kieran Morrison put Liverpool ahead, then Enzo Le Fee levelled with a long-range strike. Tutierov made it two goals in as many games to give Sunderland the lead, before Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas completed a 4-2 turnaround.

The 21-year-old shone on loan at Exeter City in the second half of last season, scoring three and providing one assist in 17 appearances in all competitions. He returned to sign a new contract running until the summer of 2028.

The versatile forward has trained with Regis Le Bris’s first-team group and impressed in a win over League Two newcomers York City. Those displays earned him selection for a three-game tour of the United States.
