Tiquinho Soares has terminated his Santos contract after asking a court to end the agreement over unpaid wages.

According to Globo.com, the 35-year-old is claiming three months of salary arrears and seven months of unpaid image rights, plus a signing-on fee.

The termination was recorded in the CBF’s Daily Bulletin on Friday. He is now a free agent and is training individually with a fitness coach while he decides his next move in the coming days.

Fortaleza are a possible destination after making an enquiry about his situation. Santos had not commented at the time of publication.

Soares spent the first half of the year on loan at Mirassol, and leaves Santos with 40 appearances and seven goals.
