In Tokyo’s Shibuya district, a sleek STVV Lounge and a dedicated TV show are bringing Saint-Trond VV closer to Japanese supporters.
The fifth floor bar is closely tied to the club. According to L'Équipe, it exists thanks to Keishi Kameyama, founder and president of DMM.com, which bought Saint-Trond VV in 2017.
Yellow and blue cover the room, with a fixture list at the door and the 2025-26 kits on show.
In 2022, then international development chief Yukari Seki described a dual role, promoting STVV and hosting Japanese partners. A discreet VIP corner has a screen, and the bar serves Stella Artois, Leffe, Vedett and cocktails like the Antwerpen, with cherry, pear and vanilla.
Since 30 August 2025, BS10 has aired a pre-match show for the Canaries, with live matches also shown. Editor Kei Fujigawara says it reveals lesser-seen sides of players as World Cup interest builds. He highlights three recent Japan call-ups at STVV, Shogo Taniguchi, 34, centre-back, Keisuke Goto, 20, forward, and Leo Brian Kokubo, 25, goalkeeper.
STVV’s Japanese Instagram has 15,000 followers. Wouter Vrancken’s side, third in the regular Jupiler Pro League and featuring eight Japanese players, could spark a surge if the play-offs bring Europe, though a local watcher says Belgium’s league still trails the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 in Japan. It will be 3.45am in Shibuya when STVV meet Union Saint-Gilloise, kick-off 20:45 on Saturday 2 May, French time.
