Tokyo issue official statement on Sato as Valencia move nears | OneFootball

Tokyo said in a statement that Ryunosuke Sato will step away from team activities from 5 July due to transfer procedures, adding that they will provide a further update once a formal decision is made. His switch to Valencia is close to being confirmed.

The 19-year-old will travel to Valencia this week to complete a medical and sign his contract.

He is then due to link up for the start of pre-season and aim to impress new head coach Carlos Corberán.

Given he is 19, he could be registered in an under-23 slot.

Pre-season begins on Thursday with routine medical tests, with full training from Monday at Paterna before friendlies.
