Tomás Araújo is expected to join Portugal’s pre-World Cup camp after completing his club commitments with Benfica.
According to Glorioso 1904, after receiving a call-up from Roberto Martínez he is due at Cidade do Futebol on one June, with the first training session slated for that afternoon in Oeiras as the push towards a ninth World Cup appearance begins.
Unlike several team-mates, the Benfica No 44 has no European fixtures left this month, so he should be available from day one.
Martínez will initially be without João Neves, Gonçalo Ramos, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha. The PSG quartet face Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest on 30 May, so they are due to join later.
They are expected to miss the opening sessions and the friendly against Chile on six June at Estádio Nacional, Jamor. Their integration is anticipated that same day.
Portugal then play Nigeria in Leiria on 10 June before travelling to the United States. The 2026 World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the first 48-team edition with 12 groups and 104 matches. Portugal are in Group K with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
