Tomás Pérez arrives in Brazil and says Atlético Mineiro’s interest convinced him | OneFootball

Tomás Pérez arrived in Brazil on Thursday to finalise a loan move to Atlético Mineiro from FC Porto, saying the club’s strong interest convinced him.

According to O Jogo, the agreement is well advanced and at the document exchange stage. It is a loan until December with an option to buy 80 per cent of his rights for five and a half million euros. FC Porto retain the right to recall the 20-year-old at the end of June.

He described himself as primarily a defensive midfielder who can fill different positions, ready to play where the team and coach need.

He said he must complete medical tests and sort remaining details, and hopes matters are wrapped up quickly.

Pérez added that talks with club staff were positive, and former FC Porto team-mates, many of them Brazilian, spoke highly of Atlético Mineiro.
