Rafa Obrador’s future remains a live topic in Italy, with Torino working to keep the Benfica left-back after his loan spell. The Italians did not activate the 9 million euros option, yet talks are ongoing over his stay.
Tuttosport reports that the club’s sporting department, led by Gianluca Petrachi, is in regular contact with the player’s representatives to find a solution that keeps the Spanish defender in Turin.
The approach being explored involves two avenues, persuading Benfica to lower their price or negotiating a new loan.
Benfica are not inclined to ease their stance and continue to point to a figure close to 9 million euros, almost double the roughly 5 million euros they paid Real Madrid at the start of last season.
Since arriving on loan in January, Obrador made 17 appearances, scoring once and delivering three assists, performances that strengthened the Turin club’s belief in his potential.
With the summer window entering its decisive stages, the matter is likely to remain open in the coming weeks. Torino want him to stay, but any agreement hinges on Benfica relaxing the terms.
