Torino’s Samuele Ricci addresses future amidst Milan and Manchester City links | OneFootball

Over the last few years, Samuele Ricci has established himself as one of the better midfielders in Serie A. In an interview given recently to DAZN, he opened about his best role on the field and also addressed the transfer interest in him from bigger clubs in Italy as well as abroad. “Perhaps the construction phase is the one that best suits my characteristics, but I also like the non-possession phase and trying to understand the trajectory of the ball,” he said, when asked about his strengths and the role he is the best in on the field. “I like playing more as a playmaker than as a mezzala”.Ricci also spoke about his role models and points of reference in modern football. He mentioned Rodri as one of the players he looks to emulate on the football pitch. The Italian was also full of praise for his Italian teammates, speaking of how he wanted to steal the aggression of Sandro Tonali. “Bastoni, Calafiori, Dimarco, Barella… but the list is long”, he stated. Ricci has been heavily linked with a move away from Torino despite stating that Turin has become a second home for him and that wearing the armband has been a great honour for him. “They are rumours that please anyone, but it is very important to stay focused on what you are doing. If you get too caught up in rumours it becomes a bit of a problem and you lose focus. They are good but they can also be bad, it depends on how you take them and what your character is like. I always try to stay here with my head”, he said.
