Toronto's World Cup 2026 fan zone was evacuated on Thursday because of a risk of thunderstorms in the city.
The clearance happened around half-time of Mexico v South Africa.

In a post on X, the organisers said safety was the priority and that the FIFA Fan Festival Toronto would not reopen that evening.
The decision was not taken lightly.
Canada's supporters' house was also closed owing to the weather risk.
