Heung-min Son will return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next week to say a formal farewell to supporters before the Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague.

The former Tottenham captain left last summer to join Los Angeles FC (LAFC). He helped them win the Europa League in his final season.

Tottenham confirmed that Son will take to the pitch before kick-off and will have an opportunity to address the crowd before the players walk out.

“When I announced my decision in the summer, it was in Korea, and I never got a proper chance to say goodbye to fans at the stadium,” he said.

Son joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and scored 173 goals in all competitions, placing him fifth on the club’s all-time scoring list.

He was made captain by Ange Postecoglou and went on to lift the Europa League trophy in Bilbao, ending the club’s 17-year run without silverware.

His final appearance for Tottenham was in a friendly against Newcastle United in Seoul in August.

He moved to Major League Soccer and made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in 13 appearances for LAFC as the club built its attack around him.

Tottenham also confirmed that work has begun on a street mural celebrating Son on Tottenham High Road, which will serve as a permanent tribute to his influence.

The artwork is being installed close to the stadium and is designed to reflect his status as one of the club’s most popular players.

Son’s departure marked the end of one of the most productive modern attacking partnerships in English football, with his combination play alongside Harry Kane becoming a key part of Tottenham’s identity.

His return is expected to draw a significant crowd and provide a sentimental backdrop to a European fixture that will be staged during an unsettled spell on the pitch.
