Tottenham Hotspur will prioritise signing a striker to add firepower to their roster, according to the Daily Mail.
Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has struggled with injuries this season.
Richarlison has blown hot and cold, with Randal Kolo Muani failing to make an impact. Spurs will be looking to add another centre-forward to the ranks.
Matt Barlow said, “The (Fabio) Paratici factor makes me think they will at the very least check out what’s happening with Vlahovic, whose contract at Juventus expires in June.”
Vlahovic has bagged six goals and one assist in 15 appearances this season, attracting interest from Tottenham and other clubs.
The ‘quality’ 25-year-old is already on €10 million wages and will be eyeing a lucrative signing-on fee with several other clubs in the race for his signature.
Spurs are also eyeing Ivan Toney, but his age and current salary in Saudi Arabia make it difficult for the North London giants to sign him.
However, Paratici needs to look beyond the easy headline links and resist the temptation to chase reputations built on promise rather than production.
Vlahovic may still develop into a top-class forward, but his numbers tell a different story from the myth.
His 64 goals in 160 Juventus outings are hardly the return of a transformational No. 9, and certainly not enough to justify bending Tottenham’s project around him.
Spurs need a striker who guarantees goals, not one who flatters to deceive every other season.
With the club at a crucial juncture, fighting to stay competitive, settling for a name rather than a solution would be a misstep.
If Tottenham truly want to push forward, Paratici must broaden his search and target a forward who consistently shifts results, not one whose reputation suggests he should.
