Dorrington was scheduled to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms in Poland. However, in a dramatic late twist, the youngster had a change of heart just as the deal neared completion.

He has now halted all proceedings with the Polish club, informing both boardrooms that he no longer intends to finalise the move.

The highly rated defender is seeking a fresh challenge closer to home, with his representatives actively searching for an ideal destination within England.

This change of direction leaves Tottenham’s recruitment team re-evaluating their options for the young centre-back.

Following defensive changes under manager Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs have been open to a permanent departure to help Dorrington establish himself in senior football.

Having previously gained valuable senior experience during loan spells, including winning the Scottish Cup with Aberdeen and a stint at Salford City, Dorrington believes his development is best served by remaining within the English league pyramid.

His profile as a press-resistant, ball-playing centre-back with England youth international pedigree makes him an attractive proposition for Championship and League One clubs seeking defensive reinforcements.

With the move to Poland now off the table, Dorrington’s representatives are working behind the scenes to accelerate discussions with interested domestic clubs.
