Former Spurs chairman departed after almost 25 years in September
Tottenham’s parent company ENIC has responded after a group called Eight Sports Capital claimed to have purchased a 24.99 per cent stake in the firm.
The Eight Sports Capital investment group claimed it had bought the stake in ENIC from the family trust of the club’s former executive chairman, Daniel Levy, who stepped down last September.
The news was circulated to the media, including Standard Sport, in an Eight Sports press release on Friday.
Eight Sports claims to be owned by Triller, an American entertainment and technology company owned by Richard Tsai and by Wing-Fai Ng, the latter of whom was embroiled in rumours about a potential American consortium takeover of Tottenham last Autumn which never came to pass and prompted a Tottenham statement referencing it as 'media speculation'.
Tsai is a Thai businessman who owns a large conglomerate in his homeland with his brother.
The American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is the chief executive of Eight Sports. Earick is said to be a lifelong Tottenham fan, according to sources close to the deal.
The supposed purchase price has not been confirmed.

An ENIC spokesperson said in a statement: “We can confirm that neither ENIC nor THFC are aware of any sale by Daniel Levy’s Family Trust of its minority stake in ENIC, THFC’s parent company.
“The THFC Board and Executive Team remain fully focused on delivering the commitments we set out to fans at the end of the season.”
The initial press release from Eight Sports Capital read: “Eight Sports Capital Limited today announces the signing of a sale and purchase agreement to acquire a 24.99% interest in ENIC Sports and Developments Holdings Limited (“ENIC”), the parent company of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
“The transaction is structured through the acquisition from Oakchester Limited of the entire issued share capital of Walburg Holdings Limited and Larkin Ltd pursuant to the sale and purchase agreement.
“The target companies together beneficially hold 24.99% of the issued ordinary share capital of ENIC. Oakchester Limited is owned by Whitmill Trust Company (Gibraltar) Limited, acting as trustee of The Levy Children’s Trust and The Walburg Discretionary Trust, which are family trusts established for the benefit of Daniel Levy’s children.
A spokesperson for Eight Sports Capital Limited stated: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement to acquire a significant stake in ENIC. We look forward to working with the Club’s shareholders, management, staff, players and fansto support Tottenham Hotspur’s continued growth and success.”
“The parties have agreed that no further public comment will be made regarding the commercial terms of the transaction.”
