Santiago Gimenez scored his first Serie A goal for Milan yesterday in their win over Hellas Verona but there is an indication now that his future could lie elsewhere.
The Rossoneri had pushed to sign the Mexican in the January transfer window and the player too was quite keen on the switch to the San Siro.
Daniele Longo has now reported that Tottenham attempted to sign the striker quite late in the window. The ex-Feyenoord made had, by that, time already made up his mind about Milan and had promised himself to the Diavolo advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
His entourage was also pushing for the move to the ex-Italian champions and as a result, Tottenham were rejected and they ended up signing Mathys Tel on a loan deal from Bayern Munich.
The Frenchman has one goal for Tottenham so far and Gimenez’s tally for Milan is also at one.
