In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs hoping to land Monaco defender Wilfried Singo. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to compete with Arsenal, Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid and Napoli in the race to land the Ivory Coast international.
Singo was a solid presence at the centre of Monaco’s defence last season and managed to put in a string of impressive displays in Ligue 1. The 24-year-old scored three times and earned three assists in 35 matches for the French outfit in the previous campaign across all fronts.
The Ivory Coast sensation deserves a ton of credit for making 37 tackles, 17 blocks and 43 interceptions in Ligue 1. He was even accurate with his ball distribution after completing 86.2% of his attempted passes in the top tier of French football (stats via fbref.com).
His current deal at the French club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for Spurs to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Singo is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive.
The Ivory Coast talent is also a good presence on the ball and excels at playing his way out from the back. He mainly functions as a centre-back but can also function as a right-back if asked to do so.
We can expect Singo to bring more quality to Tottenham‘s defence. He is good enough to help Spurs challenge across all competitions in the future.
At 24, Singo has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent fit for the North London club’s needs this summer. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting a player of Singo’s skill set, so Spurs would be wise to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.
