In a recent report, RMC Sport stated that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to land Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to compete with Liverpool, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea in the race to sign the Senegalese wide player this off-season.

Mbaye’s Impressive Rise In French Football

Mbaye caught the eye at times for PSG in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the right flank. The 18-year-old scored three times and secured two assists in 31 matches for the French outfit last season across all fronts.

The talented teenager is currently among the most gifted wingers in Ligue 1. Therefore, it is no wonder that Spurs are in the running to secure his services in this transfer window.

His current contract at Paris Saint-Germain will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Hoping To Land Mbaye: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Mbaye is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Senegalese whizkid has already added a few goals and assists to his game. Mbaye is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also function as a left-winger if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if Spurs manage to get him on board this off-season.

We can expect Mbaye to enhance the quality of Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline in the long run. He is already capable of challenging for a regular first-team place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

At 18, Mbaye has the potential to become a future star in English football as long as he continues to develop with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so De Zerbi should focus on going all out to bring him to England soon.
