Tottenham Hotspur have signed four players this summer and still want to add two midfielders and two forwards to manager Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, according to The Times.
They have signed Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke and Martin Dubravka, and more additions are on the cards.
Tottenham are confident they already have verbal agreements with Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali and West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes.
However, Newcastle have already rejected a £75 million bid from Spurs, as they value Tonali at around £100m.
West Ham want £80m for Fernandes and have insisted that no suitors have matched their demands.
Newcastle turned down their second approach for Tonali, and it is unclear whether they have plans to return with an improved bid closer to what the Magpies want.
De Zerbi claimed on the final day of last season that Tottenham only have 12 players good enough to stay beyond this summer.
He has signed four players and wants to add four more players to his squad.
Spurs have given Pedro Porro and Ben Davies new deals, while talks are ongoing to hand Antonin Kinsky a new five-year contract.
They are also hoping Micky van de Ven will sign a new deal this summer despite his current contract not expiring until 2029.
Securing a place in the Champions League at the end of next season is Tottenham’s target, and De Zerbi will aim to build a squad capable of finishing in the top four.
