Tottenham Hotspur discussing personal terms with Fikayo Tomori | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their defence, and they are aiming to sign at least two defenders before the end of the January transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are now in talks to sign AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori before the window shuts on Monday.

He is one of the three options for Tottenham, and negotiations are ongoing to reach a personal agreement with the former Chelsea defender.

Romano adds that along with Tomori, Spurs want to sign one more player before the end of the window.

Sky Sports claim that talks have been held at an advanced stage, but Tomori is yet to agree to the move.

Romano wrote on X: “Tottenham and AC Milan are in negotiations for Fikayo Tomori, among 3 options for Spurs at CB as clubs are still discussing formula and fee.

“Negotiations also ongoing with Tomori on personal terms. Spurs want to add one more defender to Postecoglou’s squad.”

The 27-year-old defender joined Milan initially on loan in the January window of 2021, and the move was later made permanent.

He has made over 160 appearances for the Italian giants and was part of the side that won the Serie A title in 2021-22.

Tomori helped Milan clinch the Supercoppa Italia earlier this month, but has struggled for regular starting role at the Italian club this season.

He has started in nine Serie A matches in 2024/25 and could be set for a move away from San Siro before the window closes.

Meanwhile, Spurs suffered a massive blow today in the race to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich. Despite Daniel Levy making a personal effort to get his signature, the player has decided that he doesn’t want to move to the north London club.
