In a recent report, journalists Danny Rust and Dean Jones claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to land Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Moroccan attacker this summer.
El Khannouss managed to shine at times with his performances for the Midlands club in the previous campaign. The Moroccan talent played in 37 matches for Leicester City last season, scoring three times and earning six assists in multiple competitions.
The 21-year-old deserves some credit for averaging 1.24 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 23.3% of his attempts on target. El Khannouss even distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half after making 75.1% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the King Power Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, Tottenham would have to make a good offer if they want to stand a chance of recruiting him in this transfer window.

El Khannouss is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of goals for his team.
However, the Moroccan talent is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to be a consistent performer at the highest level. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing a player of his skill set this summer.
We can expect El Khannouss to serve as an ideal replacement for James Maddison, who suffered a serious injury in pre-season. He will also help the North London club compete across all fronts in the coming years.
