Tottenham will welcome Destiny Udogie back into their squad as they prepare to face Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The full-back has been sidelined since the first pre-season fixture with a knee injury and missed the opening two Premier League matches.
Thomas Frank confirmed the positive news in his pre-match press conference. “Destiny will be in the squad tomorrow so that is a positive,” Frank said. While Udogie’s inclusion is a lift, he may need to wait for a starting place, with Djed Spence excelling at left-back and rewarded with his first senior England call-up.

Tottenham supporters are also waiting for the completion of Xavi Simons’ £51 million move. The Dutch talent is expected to add another creative option in attack, but paperwork delays mean he will not be available to face Bournemouth.
Despite Udogie’s return, Spurs remain without Yves Bissouma. Radu Dragusin is edging closer to fitness following a long-term ACL injury, but patience is required. “Dragusin is on the way back and he’s been running for a while. I think he should join the team in a week’s time, 10 days’ time, I think that’s the thing, so that’s positive, but of course it is an ACL. I’m always a little bit more, not worried but just aware that it takes time. When you’ve been out of football for nine months, you know, you need to get in. It’s not enough to have a six-week pre-season.”
Richarlison looks set to continue leading the line after starting the season strongly. Brennan Johnson, having scored in both league matches so far, is pushing hard for a starting role on the left wing. The biggest question for Frank may lie in midfield. Lucas Bergvall provides another option if greater creativity is required, though Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr impressed against Manchester City and are difficult to displace.
Tottenham predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence, Palhinha, Sarr, Kudus, Bergvall, Johnson, Richarlison.
Injured: Dragusin, Takai, Maddison, Kulusevski, Bissouma.
Kick-off: 3pm BST, Saturday 30 August 2025.Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
