Spurs face season-defining first game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday
Tottenham avoided another unwelcome disaster on Sunday by beating Southampton.
Having already lost to both Ipswich and Leicester at home this season, the idea of Spurs tasting defeat to the third and final promoted club was not worth thinking about, particularly after a difficult week for manager Ange Postecoglou.
However, Brennan Johnson scored twice as Tottenham beat Saints 3-1 and Mathys Tel scored a late penalty.
Quite how much confidence that will raise ahead of the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final showdown with Eintracht Frankfurt at home is unclear, given Saints are one of the worst teams in Premier League history.
Still, it was at least something to build on as Postecoglou gears up for the biggest game of his tenure thus far.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Tottenham injury news…
Dejan Kulusevski is the latest key Spurs player to have struggled with injury this season.
The Sweden international hasn’t played since February due to a foot problem and while he is “progressing well”, he will miss Thursday’s crucial clash.
Kulusevski has been ruled out of the first leg of the Eintracht Frankfurt game, with Postecoglou confirming the 24-year-old is a “couple of weeks away” from a return.
Potential return date: April/May 2025
Kevin Danso suffered a hamstring injury back in March, during a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Brought in as cover and competition for Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, the Austrian international was yet another victim of Tottenham’s injury woe.
Like Kulusevski, Danso is “a couple of weeks away” from a comeback.
“Kevin and Deki are working hard still, they’re probably a couple of weeks away, but both are progressing well,” confirmed Postecoglou last week.
Potential return date: April/May 2025
