Tottenham winger Mikey Moore has emerged as a loan transfer target for Middlesbrough this summer, according to Hayters.

Aiming to secure Premier League promotion after coming agonisingly close in May, the Championship club are competing with German sides Hamburg and FC Koln to sign Moore.

Spurs are prepared to sanction another temporary departure for the ‘special’ 18-year-old.

He spent last season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Rangers, making 47 appearances in all competitions and recording 11 direct goal contributions, a productive campaign that has only heightened interest from clubs eager to secure his services for the coming season.

Tottenham are understood to be pursuing at least two more attacking signings this summer, including a deal for Manchester City winger Savinho.

Should that move progress, it would open the door for Moore to head out on loan for a second successive season, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side keen to strengthen their attack before deciding the teenager’s next step.

At this stage, a move abroad appears to be the preferred option, with Hamburg and Koln reportedly leading the chase for Moore ahead of Middlesbrough.

Tottenham have previous experience loaning promising talent to Hamburg, with defender Luka Vuskovic impressing during his own spell at the Bundesliga club last season before completing a move to Brighton & Hove Albion worth up to £50 million earlier this summer.

Moore, who progressed through Tottenham’s academy and has represented England at various youth levels up to Under-19, remains highly rated at the club despite increased competition for places in De Zerbi’s forward line.
