The Dane was Tottenham’s first manager of this campaign, replacing Ange Postecoglou last summer, but was relieved of his duties in February as the club’s slide towards relegation quickly picked up steam.

Frank is yet to speak publicly since being fired by Tottenham, but at long last is due to break his silence.

According to a report from The Guardian, he is set to join BBC Sport as a pundit for this summer’s World Cup.

In doing so, he follows in his predecessor Postecoglou’s footsteps. The Australian has been lined up by ITV to work as a pundit on their competing coverage of the tournament.

The World Cup broadcast rights are shared jointly by the BBC and ITV, though the only match they will broadcast simultaneously will be the final. The BBC will host their coverage from Salford, while ITV will be based out of New York City.

Frank is presently enjoying a break from football after his Tottenham tenure turned toxic. He left the club sitting 16th in the Premier League, and results have seen no upturn since.

Last month, Frank’s agent Allan Bak said of the Dane’s future plans: “He is enjoying himself with family and friends right now. [He] has decided to pull the plug and relax."

Postecoglou, meanwhile, is yet to return to management but has been as outspoken as ever in recent months.

Speaking in March, he weighed in on the state of the relegation battle, telling an Australian radio station: “To watch [Tottenham] struggle has not been easy and it’s not the way I thought it would go.

“They’re in a hell of a fight, relegation is massive for any club but for Tottenham, it’s a pretty big deal.

“They have some fighting to do and they have the quality to get out. They need a circuit-breaker for sure.”
