Tottenham Hotspur, one of Leeds’ relegation rivals, are considering an SOS move for Sean Dyche to avoid relegation, the Telegraph reports.

Leeds sit 15th on 33 points, Spurs 17th on 30, four and one clear of 18th. Spurs have taken only four points from their past 13 league matches since 28 December.

That run ended Thomas Frank’s tenure, with Igor Tudor installed. Results have worsened, five defeats in seven in all competitions and one point from five league outings.

Tudor’s position is under scrutiny. The report says former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is the preferred long-term option, though he would only take over at season’s end once top-flight status is known.

Spurs are not in action again until 12 April at Sunderland. If they fail to win and West Ham beat Leeds later that day, they would drop into the bottom three.

A decision on Tudor is expected by Monday, complicated by the death of his father, Mario, and this week’s funeral.

Dyche, 54, has a strong survival record, taking Burnley into Europe in 2018 and keeping Everton up despite sales and PSR penalties between January 2023 and January 2025.

He has been out of work since 12 February after Nottingham Forest dismissed him. Forest were 17th and three points above the drop when he left, and though they have climbed one place, the gap to West Ham is unchanged.

A hurdle could be his reluctance to accept a seven-game deal. Leeds visit Spurs on Saturday, 9 May.
