Tottenham winger Jessica Naz suffers ACL injury | OneFootball

Tottenham winger Jessica Naz has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in her right knee, and will out for around six to nine months as she recovers.

The England international sustained the injury during the second half of Sunday’s Women’s Super League match against Aston Villa at Brisbane Road, and will undergo surgery on her knee.

She had started all 10 of Spurs’ WSL games this season, playing an important role in Martin Ho’s side. She was taken off on a stretcher after falling and landing awkwardly against Villa with 20 minutes to go in the game.

Unfortunately for Naz, this is the second ACL injury of her career. She suffered the same injury in 2019, during pre-season, and missed the entire 2019/20 campaign.

There has been a recent rise in ACL injuries among female footballers, and the women’s game will certainly wish Naz all the best in her recovery.
