Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario interested in Serie A return as Inter linger | OneFootball

Guglielmo Vicario, the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, is seeking a return to Serie A, a development that has immediately piqued the interest of Inter Milan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian international’s current situation in North London has become “complicated,” particularly following a significant mistake against Fulham that resulted in him being heavily booed by fans. While his coach defended him, the situation is described as having a “cold wind blowing” through the Spurs camp.

Inter is already planning for the post-Yann Sommer era, as the Swiss goalkeeper is expected to leave at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri have long held an interest in Vicario, who was recommended by club legend Samir Handanovic three seasons ago. With the player now keen on coming back to Italy, the club’s management, including president Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio, is “in full contention” for his signature.

Although the asking price is expected to be around €30 million and Tottenham, led by Fabio Paratici, is a “very expensive shop,” the fact that the player’s agent has re-opened a communication channel with Inter is a major boost for the Nerazzurri‘s summer plans.

It is key to note that Vicario’s agent has helped Inter in multiple deals in the recent past, so he has a working relationship with the Italian side.
