Saudi club Al-Ittihad has initiated preliminary talks to explore the possibility of signing Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Foot Mercato, Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, has already started discussions with the Saudi club's management. Several signs suggest that the "Egyptian Pharaoh" is now open to the idea of leaving, despite having smoothed over past tensions with Liverpool.
The report notes that the relationship between Salah and his coach reached a breaking point last December, following public criticism over Salah's presence on the bench. However, the Egyptian international regained his starting spot after participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The source believes this potential deal could benefit all parties: Liverpool would receive a financial boost, while Salah would have the chance to finally clarify his future.
It’s worth noting that Al-Amid recently lost the services of French stars Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté. Meanwhile, Fabinho’s contract expires this June, and Moussa Diaby’s name is being discussed among possible departures. All these factors reinforce the Saudi club’s urgent need for major signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.
