We’re out of the international week now and heading towards another round of Premier League fixtures, but there are still waves of interesting quotes coming from players who have had more time than usual in the last week to speak to the media.

Enzo Fernandez thinking he’s a fashion icon on Saudi TV.
Enzo Fernandez was one of them, after a long interview with Saudi site Koora Break. They covered a lot of things, including his dramatic record breaking move to Chelsea in January 2023:
“It was a month of a lot of chaos, transfers that were happening, transfers that weren’t happening,” the midfielder said of his monster move from Benfica.
“I was very young at that time too. The truth is that incredible things were happening to me in football, but at that time, obviously, that month was all very crazy because one week I was going to Chelsea, the next week I wasn’t going.
“That’s how it was until the end of the month. It ended up happening on the last day of the market, a very high-value transfer… I was at a club like Benfica that gave me everything, but it was crazy. It finally happened.
“Today I am in Chelsea. I went through an incredible process here at the club with many changes and well, today I feel very good with a group of people who are my teammates, with whom I share every day, with the coaching staff. The truth is that I feel very happy today.”

Enzo covered a few other topics, like how he had played a part in getting Moises Caicedo to sign for Chelsea after the team’s hierarchy asked the midfielder to get onto his fellow South American and sell him the project.
Before the break it really felt like Enzo Maresca had nailed down his first XI and that can only be good for the Blues moving forward.
