Federico Valverde has been on FC Bayern’s radar for some time, but after the recent incidents at Real Madrid, a loose rumor could now become a hot topic again.

Federico Valverde is not a new signing for FC Bayern. According to information from Transferfeed, the Munich club have been monitoring the Uruguayan for several seasons. For a long time, there was actually little to suggest a move: Real Madrid have no plans to offload the 27-year-old in the summer. Valverde himself is also said not to be pushing for a departure.

However, the recent turmoil at Madrid could at least change this situation. There was a heated argument between Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni at Real. Both professionals were fined 500,000 euros by the club. Such incidents are likely to fuel speculation about Valverde’s future again, even if the Whites are said to be making long-term plans with him internally.

The incident was not without sporting consequences. Valverde suffered a head injury and will have to take ten to 14 days off, meaning the midfielder will also miss the Clásico against FC Barcelona.

Will Valverde be Goretzka’s replacement?

The unrest in Madrid could be interesting for Bayern. Valverde was already linked with the German record champions in March, when the financial conditions in particular were considered a major hurdle. In sporting terms, the 27-year-old would fit into Munich’s midfield with his dynamism, versatility and international experience.

This is another reason why the name is unlikely to simply disappear at Säbener Straße. Although FC Bayern has several options in the center with Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Tom Bischof, the departure of Leon Goretzka will also free up a place in the squad. However, it is also clear that a transfer package of this magnitude would have to be examined very carefully internally.

Uli Hoeneß recently announced a cautious approach on the transfer market to Sport Bild: „We won’t be making any big noises on the transfer market this summer either. The credo is: transfers must not lead to us getting into debt. There’s no room for compromise for me.“ A Valverde deal would therefore only be realistic if the general conditions in Madrid actually change significantly.
