Real Madrid star Rodrygo is ready to stay put for the season ahead, to battle it out for a place in the XI of new manager Xabi Alonso.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Monday provided the latest on the situation of the Brazilian.

The name of frontman Rodrygo has of course taken its place centre stage in the media headlines surrounding Real Madrid across the summer to date.

This comes after the 24-year-old was widely tipped to bring a close to his time on the books of Los Blancos.

After struggling for game-time at the recent Club World Cup, it was suggested that Rodrygo does not feature prominently in the plans of new boss Xabi Alonso.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Spain early this week is anything to go by, then the South American has not given up on resurrecting his career at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As per a report from AS:

‘The weeks since the end of the Club World Cup have clarified his future situation, and Rodrygo is committed to reversing his current situation. To win over Xabi and regain his former strength in the team.’
