The summer window is nearing its climax, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham pushing to get business done before the deadline.
Arsenal continue to pursue Julian Alvarez after talks over Victor Osimhen, and are stepping up a move for Ezri Konsa. They have also been linked with Jarell Quansah and Jack Hinshelwood, plus Christian Kofane, while Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Jesus are said to be heading for the exit. Teamtalk claims Jose Mourinho has approved a Real Madrid move for Martin Zubimendi, who could see his minutes in north London squeezed by Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival and a late post-World Cup return.
Atletico Madrid have made it clear they do not intend to sell Alvarez despite interest from Arsenal and Barcelona. The Gunners also saw an attempt to land Vinicius Jr fall flat earlier in the window.
At Manchester United, Michael Carrick is targeting a left-back and possibly a third central midfielder before the deadline, and he also wants another striker. United are keeping a close eye on Freiburg’s Igor Matanovic and have been handed a boost over Eduardo Camavinga.
Liverpool’s chase of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye has received a double boost, with both wingers omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s Trophee des Champions squad. The Reds are pushing to sign the pair in separate deals before 1 September.
Tottenham are close to deals for Savinho and Cody Gakpo, and are also eyeing Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea remain defiant over Enzo Fernandez, while Manchester City are interested in Pedro Neto.
Rodri will fly to Barcelona today to undergo a medical. It was reported last night that the LaLiga champions finally agreed a deal with Manchester City at the third attempt, an initial €60m plus a possible €16m in add-ons, some easier to trigger than others.
