Aston Villa keen on £50m Bowen

Aston Villa are keen on signing Jarrod Bowen from West Ham, with Unai Emery understood to be a major admirer.

That’s according to The Athletic, who report that no formal talks have taken place between the clubs, and any potential deal is currently viewed as difficult due to Villa’s need to generate funds through player sales.

Bowen remains under contract for another four years and has yet to determine whether he wants to pursue a move elsewhere, but a £50m asking price has been mooted.

Atletico want to sell Alvarez to Arsenal

Atletico Madrid have made it clear that Julian Alvarez will not be sold to Barcelona, describing such a move as a matter of honour.

Instead, the Spanish club are exploring a potential agreement with Arsenal as they assess options for the Argentine forward’s future.

That’s according to Spanish outlet COPE, who report that discussions are said to involve a player-plus-cash arrangement that would see Alvarez move to north London in exchange for Viktor Gyökeres and up to £51m.

PSG rival Liverpool for Diomande

PSG want £100m-rated Yan Diomande and will compete with Liverpool for his signing, according to Bild.

The Anfield side had a £86m bid rejected for Diomande on Thursday, and their pursuit will be complicated by the Paris side’s interest.

PSG’s financial might and status as European Champions may lure the young winger to the Parc des Princes.

Iraola is looking for a Mo Salah replacement, while Bradley Barcola’s rumoured transfer to Arsenal means Luis Enrique will also require incomings.

Chelsea make move to sign £75m Wharton

Chelsea are reportedly working on a deal to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton as they prepare for the likely exit of Enzo Fernandez.

Reports claim Fernandez has reached an agreement in principle with Real Madrid, prompting Chelsea to identify Wharton as a priority replacement.

The Blues are said to be nearing a deal worth around £75million, with the England international keen on the move.

Chelsea make Bergvall transfer decision

Chelsea have no plans to revive their interest in Lucas Bergvall despite the Tottenham player’s desire to change clubs this summer, writes Dom Smith.

Standard Sport understands that the midfielder, who is currently at the 2026 World Cup with Sweden, has informed Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi of his wish to leave due to a fear over a lack of first-team minutes.

Spurs have set an asking price of £45million for the youngster, who Chelsea explored a deal for in January only to be stone-walled by Spurs.

And Standard Sport understands that Chelsea will not go back in for Bergvall this summer.

There is also no interest John Stones, who is set to leave Manchester City on a free transfer, or Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri.

'Agent' Rice working on Rogers deal

Declan Rice could yet provide a key boost in Arsenal’s quest to sign Morgan Rogers this summer.

The Gunners are one of a number of clubs wanting to land the England playmaker after another fine season at Aston Villa.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are now stepping up their interest in Rogers, with Three Lions team-mate Rice said to be leading a “charm offensive” at their World Cup camp in the United States, where there is also Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze.

Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly believe that Villa could sell their top asset for around £85m.

Tottenham plot shock Rashford move

Tottenham are plotting a shock move for Marcus Rashford, according to reports.

The England forward’s club future appears uncertain, with Barcelona allowing time to expire on the clause in his season-long loan that would have allowed them to sign him permanently for a fee of around £26m.

Instead Rashford will be on his way back to Manchester United after the World Cup, though it remains to be seen if Michael Carrick will be willing to reintegrate him into the first-team squad at Old Trafford.

According to new reports from The I, Spurs are exploring an offer for the player that would be lower than the £40m valuation currently held by United.

Atletico hit back at Alvarez speculation

Atletico Madrid remain adamant Julian Alvarez will not be sold this summer, despite his public demand to be sold earlier today.

The club made a statement to AS: “There is no amount of money for which Barcelona can buy Julian Alvarez. He will not be transferred to Barcelona.

“Either they pay the release clause for €500m (£431m) or there is no deal.”
