Premier League giants linked with big moves for early signings
Transfer news – LIVE!
The January transfer window is already in full swing and plenty of big names are being linked with huge midseason moves. Arsenal, of course, remain in with a chance of winning the Premier League title and supporters will no doubt be keen to see Mikel Arteta’s side strengthen their frontline this month. To that end, the Gunners have reportedly seen an opening offer rejected by Brazilian club Botafogo for £100m-rated striker, Igor Jesus.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are reportedly in pursuit of a new left-back to fit Ruben Amorim’s system. Both they and Liverpool have been linked with moves for Bournemouth’s impressive Milos Kerkez, who may be happy to wait to decide on his future until the summer.
Tottenham have already been active this month following the rather surprise signing of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. Now, reports suggest Spurs have made contact over a potential move for PSG and France forward Randal Kolo Muani. Follow all the news, gossip and rumours including updates on Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea with Standard Sport’s daily transfer blog!

There was more than a hint of Deja vu about Arsenal’s performance at Brighton on Saturday.
It summed up the Gunners’ season as a combination of fitness issues, a lack of creativity and a controversial refereeing decision led to them dropping points.
Manchester United did Arsenal a favour on Sunday to ensure they did not lose ground on Premier League leaders Liverpool, but it is hard to escape the feeling that Mikel Arteta’s side are clinging on in the title race.

Slavia Prague do not expect Crystal Palace to continue pursuing a deal for El Hadji Malick Diouf.
Last week the Czech top-flight leaders rejected a bid from Palace worth £12.5million for the 20-year-old left wing-back, who is being tracked by a host of clubs from the Premier League and elsewhere in Europe.
Standard Sport understands that Slavia believe Palace will now look elsewhere for a January solution at the position after rejecting their initial bid.

Ruben Amorim admitted Manchester United “will see what happens” to forward Joshua Zirkzee during the January transfer window.
The forward only joined the Red Devils from Bologna back in July for a fee believed to be worth £36.5million.
Still, the manager who signed him in Erik ten Hag was sacked in October following a defeat at West Ham and Zirkzee has struggled to convince.
The 23-year-old has scored only four goals across 28 appearances for the club this season and was sarcastically cheered off when replaced early during the 2-0 defeat against Newcastle last month.

Pep Guardiola has explained why Jack Grealish is not receiving much game time.
Grealish has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City amid a decline in his output, with the Englishman having made just two goal contributions in 19 appearances in all competitions for City this season.
The 29-year-old, who cost £100million when he joined City from Aston Villa in 2021, did not make the squad for the recent 1-1 draw with Everton, was an unused substitute in last Sunday’s 2-0 win over Leicester, and played just six minutes on Saturday in the 4-1 win over West Ham.
