The summer window is stepping up another notch as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all work on getting new signings completed during the World Cup. Arsenal are planning an opening offer for Morgan Rogers after making him their transfer priority, while confusion reigns over a Bruno Guimaraes release clause after the Gunners were again offered the chance to land Newcastle team-mate Sandro Tonali - a key target for Tottenham.

Arsenal offered chance to sign Sandro Tonali

Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Bruno Guimaraes’ Newcastle team-mate Sandro Tonali - a key transfer target for Tottenham.

Like Guimaraes, Tonali has been subject to intense transfer speculation for months now amid links to a whole host of clubs, including Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Tottenham look to be pushing hardest for the Italy midfielder, who is said to be open to the move.

However, Chronicle Live report that Arsenal were last week again offered the opportunity to sign Tonali by his agents GR Sports.

However, the Gunners are said to have baulked at the player’s reported £275,000-a-week wage demands.

Liverpool step up Barcola interest as Diomande eyes PSG

Liverpool could turn attentions to Bradley Barcola after receiving a major blow in their pursuit of Yan Diomande.

The Reds had been hoping to pull off a big-money deal for RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast star Diomande to follow their surprise capture of Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna earlier this month.

However, it was widely reported last night that the 19-year-old wants to join Paris Saint-Germain and has an agreement on personal terms with the reigning French and European champions, with club-to-club negotiations underway.

It has been suggested by talkSPORT that Liverpool could now step up their interest in PSG’s Barcola instead, with Said El Mala of Cologne and Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille also said to be potential alternatives to Diomande.

Sunderland angry over Chelsea's Granit Xhaka bid

Sunderland are unhappy with Chelsea’s opening offer for Granit Xhaka.

Standard Sport reported last night that the Blues had lodged a first bid for the former Arsenal captain worth £8m, which was rejected instantly.

Sunderland insist that skipper Xhaka is not for sale at any price, despite suggestions that he wants to return to London and reunite with former Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.

The Daily Mail say that the Black Cats view Chelsea’s opening offer for the 33-year-old Swiss midfielder as “insulting”.

Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal transfer twist

Is there a new twist in the Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal transfer stakes?

It emerged last week that the Gunners had approached Newcastle regarding their influential captain, with an opening £55m offer rejected and a second bid expected imminently.

It was reported by Globo in Guimaraes’ native Brazil over the weekend that he has a release clause written into his current contract at St James’ Park that could see him depart for £60m this summer after Newcastle failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

However, Chronicle Live claims sources at Newcastle deny that any such clause exists.

Cristian Orozco set for Man Utd medical

Cristian Orozco is set to undergo a medical at Manchester United.

An agreement was reached last year for Colombia’s teenage wonderkid, who currently plays for Fortaleza CEIF in Bogota, to head to Old Trafford this summer.

Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra reported over the weekend that Orozco was set to travel to the UK on Sunday in order to have medical tests before being officially announced as United’s latest recruit.

Orozco, a defensive midfielder with huge potential and a captain for Colombia at youth level, turns 18 next month.

Arsenal plot huge Morgan Rogers bid

Arsenal are believed to be preparing a massive opening offer for Morgan Rogers.

Standard Sport reported last week that the Gunners had made the Aston Villa and England star their top transfer priority for the summer as they step up their long-held interest in his signature.

Football Insider claim that Arsenal are now plotting a huge first bid for Rogers, who started for England against Panama at the World Cup on Saturday night.

It is thought that any move for the 23-year-old would have to be worth in excess of £100m.
