“Transfer request” is the first sign of Spanish media getting to work to facilitate major Chelsea transfer | OneFootball

Enzo Fernandez is preparing to put in a “transfer request” to get a move to Real Madrid, Spanish sources are saying.

Sources in Spain quoted by the Sun are claiming that Enzo Fernandez is going to put in a transfer request to try and secure a move to Real Madrid this summer.

The former Benfica man is in the middle of a two game ban from his own club for his open flirtation with the idea of leaving Chelsea, and repeated comments about how much he would like to live in Madrid.

Now we can safely say that the “transfer request” stuff is nonsense – they don’t really exist, beyond telling senior figures at the club you want to leave.

But what matters is that this is being reported, and who is reporting it. El Chiringuito may be a nonsense show, but those on the panel are very well connected (especially when it comes to Real Madrid) and the fact that Enzo’s potential move is now being put forward shows the first signs of the Spanish media machine getting behind the rumour.

If Enzo really wants to go and Madrid really want him, we can expect this to continue all summer.
