Club Brugge forward Nicolò Tresoldi has clarified his international plans, signalling he will stay with Germany after Italy made no approach. According to BuLi News, the 21-year-old is now committed to the DFB pathway following his breakthrough season.
Back in October 2025 he kept the door open, saying: "The rules allow it, and my phone is on. If Gattuso [Italian head coach] wants to talk to me, I would be very happy." That call never came.
Reflecting on his choice, he told Gazzetta dello Sport: "They showed me a future, I immediately felt valued, even by the association. That's important for a player."
Tresoldi has been in Germany’s youth set-up since U19 level, and is now an important part of the U21s. He has scored 10 goals in 22 appearances.
Assessing his progress, he told Transfermarkt: "I think I've developed in all areas of my game and taken the next step."
With his club career trending upwards and continued backing from the national set-up, he appears focused on realising his potential in German colours.
