Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Igor Tudor might be forced to turn to Antonin Kinsky in the coming weeks.

He will reportedly be out of action for around a month, even though it is a minor procedure.

While much of that month will be taken up by the international break, he is expected to still miss Tottenham’s clash with Sunderland on April 12.

Tottenham back-up shot-stopper Kinsky could return between the sticks for the first time since his ‘nightmare‘ performance versus Atletico Madrid.

The Spurs ace lined up in goal to replace the underperforming Vicario and made errors leading to goals before being replaced by Vicario after 17 minutes.

Tottenham fans will be filled with dread at the thought of the 23-year-old starting in goal. He has not covered himself in glory this season.

That looming uncertainty between the sticks only underlines a much bigger issue Tottenham must address in the summer.

With Vicario heading for the exit door and Kinsky clearly not ready to shoulder number one responsibilities, Spurs are staring at a full-blown goalkeeping reset.

Kinsky will benefit far more from a loan spell than from being thrown back into the firing line.

As a result, recruitment becomes important. Tottenham have already been linked with Freiburg’s Noah Atubolu. The German is a highly-rated young goalkeeper with strong shot-stopping credentials.

Dean Henderson and James Trafford are also on their radar. They are proven Premier League performers.

Whoever they choose, the priority is clear – stability.

Spurs’ fragile backline has been exposed far too often this season, and without a commanding, reliable presence in goal, those issues will persist.
