Turkey have officially confirmed their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with head coach Vincenzo Montella naming a balanced group blending established European-based stars with emerging domestic talent.
The squad will travel to North America for the tournament, where Turkey will make their long-awaited return to the World Cup stage after 24 years, having last appeared in 2002.
Captain Hakan Calhanoglu leads the side, supported by a core of high-profile names including Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz and Kerem Akturkoglu. The trio are expected to form the creative and attacking backbone of Montella’s team.
In defence, Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is among three selected shot-stoppers, while experienced options such as Merih Demiral, Caglar Soyuncu and Ferdi Kadioglu provide stability across the back line.
The midfield is anchored by Calhanoglu, with Orkun Kokçu and Salih Ozcan also included, giving Turkey a mix of creativity and work rate in the centre of the pitch.
Up front, young talents such as Can Uzun and Deniz Gul have also been selected, highlighting the squad’s long-term potential alongside its immediate ambitions.
Turkey have been drawn in Group D alongside Australia, Paraguay and co-hosts the United States, opening their campaign against Australia on 14 June in Vancouver.
