Juventus coach Igor Tudor feels inferior to nobody, but Tuttosport newspaper notes that his words at a pre-match press conference on Friday sounded ‘like a farewell.’

Tudor’s future at Juventus is highly uncertain. The coach’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Bianconeri will only discuss a possible contract extension after the Club World Cup this summer.

Multiple sources have reported that Napoli boss Antonio Conte, a former midfielder and coach at Juventus, is the Bianconeri’s primary target for the job next season, although the Italian is contracted at the Stadio Maradona until June 2027.

Tudor commented on recent speculation about his future during a press conference on Friday, insisting that he didn’t feel inferior to anybody.

The Croatian tactician also argued that the team found itself in a ‘deep hole’ when he was appointed to replace Thiago Motta in March and defended his players, saying they’ve been giving their all during his time at the club.

Tuttosport newspaper noted on Saturday that Tudor’s words “sound like a farewell”, suggesting that the ex-defender would leave regardless of Juventus’ qualification for the Champions League.

The Bianconeri currently sit fourth, level on 64 points with Lazio, and their better head-to-head record against the Biancocelesti means they will achieve a top-four finish if they win the last two games of the season against Udinese and Venezia.
