Two contrasting stories: how Boca and River approach the Superclásico

Boca and River prepare for a new edition of the Superclásico, and they do so with very different circumstances. The Xeneize arrives in high spirits after defeating Estudiantes 2-1 in La Plata, a result that left them as the leader of Zone A of the 2025 Clausura Tournament. River, on the other hand, comes from a 1-0 home defeat against Gimnasia.

The team led by Claudio Úbeda is at the top with 23 points, the result of six wins, five draws, and three losses. Additionally, in the annual table, they occupy the second position with 56 points, reflecting their improvement in recent matches and rounding off a good year in the local scene.

On the other side, River is going through a critical moment. The team managed by Marcelo Gallardo has accumulated eight defeats in the last ten matches, a negative streak that has raised concerns in Núñez. In Zone B, the Millonario is in sixth place with 21 points, with a record of six wins, three draws, and five losses. In the table, they have 52 points, four points below the Xeneize.
