Two leading members of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid are in direct competition for starting duties on the club’s left wing.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Rodrygo and Vinícius Jr. as the pair in question.
The situation on Real Madrid’s left wing of course took its place centre stage in the Spanish media headlines once more earlier this week.
As much came after Xabi Alonso opted to leave Vinícius Jr. on the bench for his side’s Champions League opener against Olympique Marseille.
Instead, it was compatriot Rodrygo who was made use of from the off at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Vinícius will need to battle hard to win back permanent starter status.
As per a report from AS:
‘There is real competition between Vinícius and Rodry, and it’s much more open than it (previously) seemed.’
