Tzolis not concerned by Vinicius to Arsenal transfer rumours

Christos Tzolis has said he is not concerned about Arsenal’s reported interest in Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.

Arsenal are interested in a deal to sign Vinicius from Real Madrid, as the Premier League champions look to make a statement in the market. Mikel Arteta’s side are watching the situation of the 26-year-old in Spain, as talks over a new contract stall. The Brazilian is regarded as one of the world’s top talents, and plays in the same left-wing position as Tzolis.

The latter is also new signing at the Emirates after arriving from Club Brugge, and insists he has confidence in his ability to make an impact, despite speculation of a high-profile arrival in his role.

“Obviously I’m confident as a player, so I don’t think about the future and what the club will do in this position,” Tzolis said to Sky Sports.

“I’m thinking how to improve and settle as fast as possible in the club because I have the opportunity to train directly with the team from the beginning of the season, to play the friendly games and then to go to official games.

“So it’s a chance to play directly from the beginning – and then it’s up to me to show the qualities and what I can bring in the team. I’m pretty confident that I will show it in the next games.”
