World football will be celebrating from November 3, as the 20th edition of the U17 World Cup kicks off.
This tournament will feature 10 African teams: Burkina Faso, Mali, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, and Uganda.
Here are the 5 African prodigies to watch at the U17 World Cup.
The San Diego striker will be Tunisia’s attacking weapon at the flagship youth competition. Fast-tracked to the first team, Saidi has already made a single MLS appearance, but he’s shone with 6 games for the Young Eagles, netting 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
The best player at the U17 AFCON will try to guide Morocco to a second youth world title after their junior triumph. Now with Ajax Amsterdam, Ouazane is back to his best form after putting behind him the disappointment of a failed transfer to Real Madrid.
The Ugandan forward is regarded as one of Africa’s brightest football prospects. In the last U17 AFCON, he scored 3 goals and provided an assist.
The Ivorian striker is on the radar of several European clubs eager to snap him up. He bagged 7 goals in 6 matches at the last AFCON.
At just 15 years old, he’s already considered one of the brightest hopes of Burkinabé and African football. He made his mark at the last AFCON, contributing to 9 goals in 6 matches.
